Getting started
- Install Mint Stock Forecast from the Shopify App Store and open it. The first import of your products, stock and the last 8 weeks of orders starts by itself.
- Settings → Forecast defaults: set your usual lead time (days from ordering to having stock to sell), safety stock (extra days of sales as a buffer) and how many days each order should cover.
- Settings → Vendor rules / Product rules: override lead time and safety stock per supplier or product, and add case packs and minimum order quantities.
- Forecast: work through Reorder now and Reorder soon. Click a variant to see exactly how its numbers were calculated.
- Purchase orders (Pro): everything to reorder grouped by vendor; download a CSV per vendor.
Common questions
Why is a best seller showing a high sales rate even though it sold little last month? Days it was sold out aren't counted. If it sold 30 units in 10 in-stock days and was sold out for the rest of the month, it sells 3 a day when you have it.
What does "stock-out estimated" mean? The variant was already sold out when the app was installed, so the app doesn't know exactly when it ran out. It assumes it sold out on the day of its last sale. This goes away once the app has recorded its own history.
A variant isn't in the forecast. Variants whose inventory Shopify doesn't track (turn on "Track quantity" in Shopify), bundles (their components are forecast instead), gift cards and archived products aren't forecast. On Free, only your 50 best-selling variants are.
How far back does it look? Shopify gives apps the last 60 days of orders; the app uses at most the last 8 weeks plus today. It doesn't know about last year's seasons, so raise safety stock ahead of a known busy period.
How quickly do changes show up? Stock changes apply as they happen. Orders import daily (and as they come in, once Shopify has approved the app's order access). Click Sync now on the app home to refresh right away.
Do returns count as sales? No. Refunded units are taken off the sales they came from, and cancelled and test orders never count.
Plans
Free forecasts your 50 best-selling variants for all locations together, with every list, explanation and rule. Pro is billed through Shopify at $9.99/month after a 7-day free trial and adds unlimited variants, per-location forecasts, purchase orders by vendor, CSV export and the daily low-stock email. Change or cancel in the app under Plans.
Privacy
See our privacy policy and security policy. In short: from orders the app keeps only IDs, dates, variants and quantities for 60 days — never customers' names, emails, addresses or prices.
